Announcement    In addition to our regular and short sarongs we now have the best selection of true PLUS SIZE sarongs available, and the quality of our fabric is unsurpassed! They're extra long to fully wrap around you and give you the coverage you need with enough flow to look fabulous. We have sarongs for women and men in a variety of gorgeous colors and motifs.

Our sarong and pareo designs are all hand-dyed batiks and have been inspired by the art and culture of Tahiti, Indonesia, India, Polynesia and, of course, Hawai'i. Our sarongs are elegant and sophisticated in deep rich colors and luxurious, super-high quality fabric. You will feel beautiful wearing our sarongs, and that's kind of the point :)

Here's my best Sarong Care Advice:
It’s a good idea to rinse your sarong in cold water before wearing. This will help remove any bits of wax that may be remaining from the batiking process and any excess color. Then you can machine wash, gentle cycle with like colors and a low temp dryer is okay. Lay them flat so they don't wrinkle. Ironing is not recommended.

Women, wondering how to tie your sarong? Here is a lovely and helpful video on how to tie a sarong as a dress:

In Hawaiian "Pua" means flower. Nature, especially the flowers, has been so inspiring for me. I always go out in nature to re-connect. So I hope to bring a bit of the beauty of nature to your wardrobe. We've re-located from Hawaii to Santa Fe, New Mexico and am enjoying the spirit of the Southwest. But I still divide my time between Hawaii and Santa Fe, each have their own specialness that I love. ♥ Sue ~ PuaWear

My Sarong Journey

Shop members

  • Sue

    Owner, Creator

I began my sarong business in Hawaii around 2006. I lived on the Big Island of Hawaii for 12 years and was practically living in sarongs. I was inspired to create something more my style with deep rich, earthy tones and a more elegant feel!

  • Kate Barrere

    Assistant

Kate is an amazing artist and photographer here in New Mexico. She often helps me with sewing when we receive a large shipment of fabric. Her assistance and support are deeply appreciated.

  • Kathy Jones

    Assistant, Shipper

Kathy is a wonderful artist making fine wood hand-crafted furniture. She has a talent for attention to detail and is indispensable to me managing the business when I'm off selling in Hawaii or traveling the world.
